Staying Creatively Connected During Quarantine

As we see COVID-19 cases on the rise again, many people are feeling more creatively blocked than ever before. It is difficult to feel inspired when there is so much going on in the world and we feel so isolated. However, I have found that this has been a perfect time to really educate myself on important issues and improve my work in several different areas.

I am a devoted follower of new music releases and I love to talk to my friends to see what their favorite releases were for the week. It is a great way to remain connected over a shared passion we have for music. Recently, my friends and I have discussed how impressive and beautiful Taylor Swift’s Folklore is. I find it remarkable that she was able to write and record all of this music during quarantine. We are all going through a difficult time right now; therefore, it is the perfect time to write, create, and share passionate content to bridge the physical divide we all are experiencing.

For me, I find that jotting down plans I have for future projects has made me feel more productive. I have been scouting for new talent on YouTube, Instagram, Spotify, and TikTok. Finding new artists to listen to is always so exciting for me and always cheers me up. I encourage everyone to really hone in on a hobby they have always wanted to pursue or improve their craft while we have more free time to do so.
